Hyundai Tucson: Front Muffler
Removal and Installation
- Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
- Disconnect the oxygen sensor connector (A).

- Remove the engine room rear under cover (A).
Tightening torque : 7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb-ft)

- Remove the front muffler (A) after disconnecting the hanger (B).
Tightening torque :
A : 39.2 - 58.8 N.m (4.0 - 6.0 kgf.m, 28.9 - 43.4 lb.ft)
B : 30.4 - 45.1 N.m (3.1 - 4.6 kgf.m, 22.4 - 33.3 lb.ft)

- Install in the reverse order of removal.
WARNING
When installing, replace with new gaskets.

Install in the reverse order of removal.

The GDI injector is similar to a standard injector, but sprays fuel at a much
higher pressure directly
into the combustion chamber and has a swirl disc to get the fuel swirling as it
exits the nozzle. This
aids in atomization of the fuel.
