Troubleshooting

Wheel and tire diagnosis
Rapid wear at the center

- Center-tread down to fabric due to excessive over inflated tires
- Lack of rotation
- Excessive toe on drive wheels
- Heavy acceleration on drive
Rapid wear at both shoulders

- Under-inflated tires
- Worn suspension components
- Excessive cornering speeds
- Lack of rotation
Wear at one shoulder

- Toe adjustment out of specification
- Camber out of specification
- Damaged strut
- Damaged lower arm
Partial wear

- Caused by irregular burrs on brake drums
Feathered edge

- Toe adjustment out of specification
- Damaged or worn tie rods
- Damaged knuckle
Wear pattern

- Excessive toe on non-drive wheels
- Lack of rotation

WARNING
When lifting a vehicle using a lift, be careful not to damage the
lower parts of the vehicle (floor under
cover, fuel filter, fuel tank, canister).

WARNING
When compressing the coil spring, be cautious as there may be
corrosion due to damage to the coil
spring painting.
In order to avoid such painting damage, compress by putting over the waste hose,
etc. (Refer to the
picture below.)

Remove the rear wheel hub bearing assembly.
(Refer to Drivesliaft and Axle - "Rear Hub - Carrier")
Fix the rear hub bearing assembly (A) on the vise.
WARNING
When fixing on the vise, use a cloth not to be damaged
Driveshaft side oil seal #3 B Typel
Remove the transfer assembly.
(Refer to 4 Wheel Drive (4WD) System - "Front Wheel Transfer Assembly")
Remove the dust cover (A).
Remove the oil seal #2 (A).
Remove the oil seal #3 (A).
Install the oil
