Hyundai Tucson: Fuel pump service - Installation

Installation

Install in the reverse order of removal.

Removal

Remove the fuel pump.

(Refer to Fuel Delivery System - "Fuel Pump")
Disconnect the fuel sender connector (A).

Release the fixing hook (A) and then remove fuel sender (B) in the arrow direction.

Disconnect the fuel pump motor connector (A).

Remove the fixing pin (A) and then disconnect the fuel feed tube (B).

Release the fixing hook (A) and then remove the head assembly (B).

Release the fixing hook (A) and then remove the reservoir-cup (B).

Disconnect the fuel pump motor connector (A).
Disconnect the ground cable (B).

Remove the fixing pin (A) and then disconnect the fuel pressure regulator (B).

Release the fixing hook and then remove the assist pump (A).

Separate the fuel pump hose (A) after releasing the clamp (B).

WARNING

WARNING

Replace the clamp with a new one when reinstalling the clamp.

Remove the pump filter & fuel pump (A) after releasing the hooks.

Release the fixing hook and then remove the fuel filter (A) from the bracket (B).

Low Pressure Fuel Line

WARNING Be careful not to damage the parts located under the vehicle (floor under cover, canister, fuel tank) when raising the vehicle using the lift. (Refer to General Information - "Lift and Support Points") Release the residua

High Pressure Fuel Line

Release residual pressure in fuel line. (Refer to Fuel Delivery System - "Release Residual Pressure in Fuel Line") Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery (-) terminal. Remove the air cleaner assembly. (

Install in the reverse order of removal. Install the high pressure fuel pipe as follows. (1) Completely pre-tighten the both side nuts (A) on high pressure tightening area of high pressure fuel pipe while keeping them vertically. (2) Ti

Loosen the wheel nuts slightly. Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported. Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from front hub WARNING Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the front wheel and tire (A).

Piston Pin - Reassembly

WARNING Thoroughly clean all parts to assembled. Before installing the parts, apply fresh engine oil to all sliding and rotating surfaces. Always use new gaskets, O-ring and oil seals. Install the crankshaft position sensor wheel
